Frequently Asked Questions

How do I arrange a counselling session?
Phone me on +44(0)7581 325846 or email If you get my confidential voicemail, just leave your name and number and I'll call you back as soon as I can. I can usually offer an appointment within one week.

How do I know if you are the right counsellor for me?
You are welcome to get in touch for an informal discussion.

What does it cost?
Once we have agreed to work together, sessions cost as follows:

  • Online counselling or IFS (session lasting 60 minutes) £50
  • Telephone counselling (session lasting 60 minutes) £45, plus the cost of the call to my UK mobile number.

NB: Please note that IFS sessions are available online, not by telephone.

    Do you offer couple counselling?
Although I'm happy to discuss relationship issues, I currently work with individuals, not with couples. If you are looking for a couples counsellor, I suggest you try the BACP's search facility at

I am a manager wanting to refer an employee for counselling: can you help?
Yes, I accept referrals from firms where employees require counselling support. I am also happy to discuss referrals from Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) providers, and have a great deal of experience of this type of counselling.

How many sessions will I need?
We'll agree an approximate number of sessions at the start - perhaps five or six - and then take stock. At that point, you may decide that you have done what you needed to do. Alternatively, if we agree that more sessions are required, you may choose to book a further couple of appointments, or another block. There's also the option of working in an open-ended way, if you prefer.
